In September, 1999 a Special Needs Caseload was created to better serve offenders with emotional problems and/or those with mental health/mental retardation issues.  

The Community Supervision Officer in charge of this caseload maintains close relations with local agencies that assist this population type.  Appropriate referrals are made that assist offenders in complying with their court ordered conditions and remain free of future law violations.
