 Williamson County Community Service Restitution Program

Activities- Working with a variety of agencies on as needed basis. Including: cleaning of county right of ways, trash pick-up, building maintenance and cleaning, landscaping, fence building and other work as assigned by the county. Work may be dirty at times so reference the requirements section for required apparel.

Requirements- Wear proper attire. No shorts or sandals. Wear light colored clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting dirty. Baggy, sagging, tank tops, ratty or offensive clothing is prohibited. You must bring a sack- lunch. There will be water available on the bus but if you want anything different to drink, you must bring your own. There will be a sign-in sheet. Credit will not be given if the name on the sign-in sheet is illegible. Give your best to your CSR job. Work hard and do the job right. Should you not know how to use a piece of equipment or do not understand the instructions, ask questions. You’ll be working with other people doing their CSR, therefore, avoid personality conflicts and leave any negative attitudes or feelings at home. If you do not perform the requested work, the CSR supervisor has the authority to terminate you from the program or job. You will not receive credit for the work not performed and other negative consequences can occur.

Hours of participation- 7:30 am to 4 pm. If you are required to do Community Service Restitution (CSR) instead of jail or if your conditions require that you do CSR each weekend on Saturdays and Sundays, you must show-up each Saturday and Sunday – no exceptions. If you are ill, you must show-up and ask to be released by the CSR Supervisor.

Location- You will meet at the yellow CSR bus located at 3rd & Rock Street in Georgetown , no later than 7:45 am . The bus leaves at 8 am . There is no smoking on the bus.

 Georgetown Based Programs  

Georgetown Library

Activities- Shelving, withdrawing and changing due-date slips within books. General cleaning of shelves and tables. Occasional assistance with art projects including bulletin board design and painting.

Requirements – No offensive t-shirts. No spaghetti strap or mid-rift exposing tops. Shorts must reach general length of knee. Closed toed shoes are required for safety purposes.

Hours of  Participation- The Georgetown Library will work with participants regarding hours of participation. General hours are Monday through Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and all day Saturday.

Georgetown Animal Shelter

Activities- Participants are assigned to kennel technicians to: walk, bathe and move dogs between pens and help clean kennels and/or the office. There is a chance that Saturday workdays would include working through lunch for a 9hr day. 

Requirements – Contact the supervisor for recommendations on appropriate attire.

The Caring Place

Activities- Frequent loading / unloading of furniture into /out-of vehicles. Occasional maintenance of the grounds and work areas are sometimes required.

Requirements - Pants, t-shirts and closed toed shoes are required. No inappropriate language or pictures on clothing.

Habitat for Humanity

Activities- Various construction activities including: framing, plumbing, electrical, insulation, sheet rocking, roofing, general carpentry and landscaping.

Requirements- Closed toed shoes or boots.

Hours of participation- Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. Saturday from 8am through 4 pm. Occasional Sunday schedules are sometimes available.

Activities- Basic activities associated with the maintenance of county property.   

Requirements- Closed toed shoes or boots and pants are required. No tank-tops or cut-off sleeves. Do not wear anything you mind getting dirty.

  Georgetown Independent School District Maintenance Department

Activities- Basic activities related to the maintenance of school district property.

Requirements- Closed toed shoes or boots and pants are required. No tank-tops or cut-off sleeves.

Madella Hilliard Center / Meals on Wheels

Activities- General assistance in a variety of tasks, including: kitchen help, cleaning and mopping.  

If in kitchen, covered shoes, no sleeveless shirts. 
No open cuts or sores.  Hair hat or hair net is required.  
No torn clothes.  Lifting is 25 lbs. Sweeping and mopping. 

Requirements- If participants are working in the kitchen they will be required to wear a hat or hair net, covered shoes.

Open cuts or sores are not allowed due to health concerns. 
No torn clothes or sleeveless shirts are permitted.

Activities- Assist in receiving donations, sizing clothes, organization of merchandise and general cleaning of sales area.

Requirements- No beepers, cell phones. Dress code requires closed toed shoes, no offensive t-shirts,  tank or spaghetti style tops.

Volunteer Center

Activities- The Volunteer Center serves as a coordinator to a wide-range of municipal, private and non-profit based organizations. Many other CSR opportunities for professionals. “Homebound” programs are usually available for those who have pre-approval to fulfill their CSR hours from home. 

Requirements- Requirements vary depending on the activity. Prospective volunteers are encouraged to review he web listing of jobs and then call the Volunteer Center to discuss availability.

Round Rock Parks Department

Activities- Maintenance work on ball fields. Lifting may include the relocation of banquet tables for various events. Work can range from hanging seasonal decorations for the city to picking up trash.

Requirements- Dress code: pants, sleeved shirts without vulgar language or logos. Closed toed shoes. Gloves, ear-plugs and safety goggles are provided.

Hours of participation- Monday through Friday from 6 am to 3 pm or from 7 am to 4 pm .  Saturday work is available from time to time.

Clay Madsen Recreation Center

Activities- Clean locker rooms, bathroom and pool windows. Organize mailers and office filing.

Requirements- Dress code is enforced. No sleeveless shirts, offensive language or logos on clothing. Shorts and skirts should be at knee-level. Cell phones and pagers are prohibited.

Trinity Place Apartments

Activities- Activities primarily include the maintenance of grounds and facilities. Electrical and plumbing capabilities are preferred but not required.

Requirements- An interview process is required. CSR candidates must not have any theft or violent based offenses on their record.

Cedar Park & Leander Based Programs

Activities- Assist in receiving donations, sizing clothes,
organization of merchandise and general cleaning of sales area.

Requirements- No beepers or cellular telephones. Dress code requires closed toed shoes, no t-shirts with company logos or offensive language. Baseball style caps are prohibited. Tank-tops and spaghetti style tops are not permitted. No sexual offenders are permitted to complete their CSR hours through Goodwill Industries. CSR participants are required to work a minimum of two consecutive hours per shift and must work a minimum of 15 hours per month. Enter through front doors. Participants must check with the supervisor before taking breaks or lunch.

Activities- General maintenance, including: yard mowing and hauling brush.

Requirements- Pants are required. Gloves and safety goggles are provided.

Crystal Falls Municipal Golf Course

Activities- General cleaning, weeding and beautification of the golf course and facilities.

Requirements- Dress requirements are enforced, as follows: Jeans, collared shirt and closed toed shoes are required.

  Williamson County Animal Shelter

Activities- CSR participants are required to walk dogs, clean kennels and washing dishes.

Requirements- CSR participants with felony offenses are ineligible for this program. Misdemeanor offenses can not include theft or violence. No cell phones or pagers are permitted. No holes in clothing that expose undergarments. Closed toed shoes are required.

Taylor Based Programs

  Taylor Neighborhood Center

Activities- The Taylor Neighborhood Center is primarily a Senior Citizen support organization       that requires participants to complete a variety of support tasks.  

Requirements- Persons who are completing community service hours for violent or sexual offenses are ineligible to fulfill their required hours through the Taylor Neighborhood Center . Dress code is enforced. No sleeveless shirts, offensive language or logos on clothing. Shorts and skirts should be at knee-level. Cell phones, pagers and smoking are all prohibited.

Johns Community Hospital

Activities- Assistance is occasionally needed in the following areas: stocking, maintaining and managing the supply room; grounds keeping, painting, lawn mowing with a tractor.

Requirements- A professional appearance is required, including pants and non-offensive shirts.
