TREATMENT CENTER RULES

Zero Tolerance Rules - Violation of the following rules will not be tolerated.  Residents who violate them will be terminated from treatment and action will be taken to return them to court.  Residents who violate these rules will be placed on Table Support until the Treatment Team can take further action.
1.  Res shall not intentionally physically harm another person.
2.  Res shall not be in possession of or use alcohol or mood altering drugs.
3.  Res shall not abscond from the treatment Center
4.  Res shall not engage in overt sexual activities. Overt sexual activities include intercourse, oral, anal, manual and other genitally involved acts.
5.  Res shall not directly or indirectly threaten a staff member.

Severe Rules - Violation of the following rules will result in a request for jail time or termination from treatment.  If sentencing judge does not grant request for jail time, Center isolation facilities may be used in lieu of jail.  Residents who violate these rules will be placed on Table Support until the Treatment Team can take further action.
1.  Res shall not directly or indirectly threaten another resident.
2.  Res shall not leave the facility or a designated place of duty (CSR, appointment, OCAP, etc.) without proper authorization.)
3.  Res shall adhere to their OCAP or admin pass itinerary. (If the resident is outside of the Center, they shall be directed to return to the Center immediately.  Upon returning to the Center they will be placed on Table Spt until the Tx team reviews the facts of the vio.)
4.  Res shall not engage in sexual acting out.  Sexual acting out includes hand gestures, grabbing, fondling and groping through clothes, writing sexually explicit letters, sexually suggestive talking, kissing, etc.
5.  Res shall not intentionally damage Center property, or the personal property of others.
6.  Res shall not possess or bring any contraband back into the Center after OCAPs, outside CSR, appointments, etc. Contraband includes:  Drugs, tobacco products, uninventoried clothing and personal hygiene items, money, unauthorized medications, jewelry, etc. 
7.  Res shall not steal.

Major Rules - Violation of these rules will result in 10 CSW hours, assignment to support when appropriate, loss of visit and OCAP, loss of phone use, MRT Redo, and presenting a Thinking Report in COGS lab.
1.  Res shall be present for headcount at 6:15 am each morning, shall participate by raising hand and saying "here" when name is call, and shall otherwise be quiet and orderly.
2.  Res shall not use provoking or threatening words or gestures with a staff member or resident, even as a joke.
3.  Res shall submit to a pat down and urinalysis whenever asked.
4.  Res shall not harm themselves.
5.  Res will comply with structure, i.e. CSW hours, support structure, support meetings, slow down and lock down, sick call, phone restriction, no communication, no sports, no smoking, etc.
6.  Res shall not bring cigarette butts, matches or cigarette lighters into the building (Loss of smoking privileges for two weeks).
7.  Res may smoke or use smokeless tobacco only outside of the building, in designated smoking areas (Loss of tobacco privileges for 5 days.)
8.  Res may not smoke or use smokeless tobacco inside the building. (Loss of tobacco privileges for two weeks.)
9.  Res shall wear seatbelts in Center vehicles.
10.  Res shall follow emergency procedures listed in the guidelines and any verbal directives given by staff during emergencies.
11.  Res shall not pair up romantically.  Romantic pairing up includes, holding hands, spending too much time together, etc.
12.  Res shall follow the verbal direction of staff members. 
13.  Res shall respond to all official telephone calls from the Center while on OCAPs or admin pass.  (If the resident does not respond to an official phone call from the Ctr, they shall be directed to return to the Center immediately, when they are contacted.  Upon returning to the Center they will be placed on Table Spt until the Tx team reviews the facts of the vio.)
14.  Res shall not enter the RS station, offices, break room, janitor's closet, storage and other work areas without permission.
15.  Repeated failure to follow Center rules and/or guidelines may result in a more serious consequence.
16.  Res shall not possess liquid bleach.
17.  Res shall not enter another resident's room except to perform work assigned by a staff member.  The pink tile in front of each room represents the room boundary.
18.  Res may not engage in extortion. (Making a person pay back more than what was initially borrowed, i.e. one soda will be returned for one borrowed.) 
19.  Res may not engage in business, trade or barter with other Res or staff (no buying or selling of personal items, personal services, vending or commissary merchandise.)
20.  Res shall launder their bed linens (two sheets and one pillowcase, and one towel and one washcloth) at least once each week.
21.  Res shall not curse at a staff member.
22.  Res shall treat all Center staff with respect.
23.  Res shall respect the confidentiality of fellow residents by not mentioning or writing to anyone outside the Center that a resident is in treatment at the Center. 
24.  Res who are not allowed to use the phone (first few weeks of treatment and phone restriction from a write up) may not ask another resident to make phone calls for them.
25.  Res must wear hairnets/caps, aprons, KP badges and gloves while on KP.
26.  Res may not eat in the kitchen, dish washing, dish drying, or storage areas of the kitchen.
27.  Res may not prepare or accept food (as a favor or reward) other than that being served to the rest of the resident population.  No special meals unless medically warranted.
28.  All monies received by residents must be deposited in the resident's financial account unless expressly permitted by the Center Director.
29.  Residents shall not receive cash through the mail.  Only money orders and cashier checks are authorized.  Any cash that is received through the mail or other means must be deposited in the resident's financial account.

Moderate Rules - Violation of these rules will result in loss of visit and OCAP, and of those privileges specified after each rule, and presenting a thinking report in COGs Lab.
1.  Res shall be prepared for and shall participate in all elements of the Tx program.
2.  Res shall not use sick call to avoid treatment or work obligations.
3.  Res shall take only recommended dosages of OTC meds unless a doctor has prescribed, in writing, a higher dose or a longer period of taking the medication.
4.  Res may not sell, trade or barter tobacco products to another resident (Loss of smoking privileges for one week). 
5.  Res shall not engage in reckless conduct or horseplay, e.g. running inside, twirling objects, playing practical jokes, poking, hitting or slapping, etc.)
6.  Res must handle and care for Center property so damage does not occur.
7.  Res shall not go beyond the courtyard fence without staff approval.
8.  Res living on the East end of the male hall shall not visit the West end of the male hall and vice versa.
9.  Res shall open all of their mail in front of staff, and shall give outgoing mail to staff for inspection and/or inventory.
10.  Res shall not lie to Center staff.
11.  Res shall not "staff split", e.g. ask one staff member a question and then ask another staff member the same question hoping to get a more favorable response:
12.  Res shall hold themselves and other Res accountable for obeying the rules of the Center, using written support forms.
13.  Res shall not carry more than $40 on their person at any time, and no bill larger than $1.
14.  Res shall not cut or style another resident's hair unless authorized by Center staff.
15.  Res shall not engage in excessive profanity.
16.  Res shall take prescribed meds as directed by their doctor on the label of the med.
17.  Res shall follow doctor's recommendations, i.e. not play basketball with a sprained ankle, use crutches, wear sling, wear cast, etc.
18.  Res shall attend 7 AA/NA/CA meetings per week (5 during the week and 2 each weekend). MRT classes do not count as AA meetings.
19.  Res in their first two weeks of Tx will attend all available AA/NA/CA meetings each week.
20.  Res shall have their AA sheets signed by the meeting chairman or a designated person at each meeting they attend.  These sheets are to be turned in weekly.
21.  Res must have a signature to excuse any missed AA meeting i.e. when on sick call, OCAP, admin pass.  Big Book is required for all residents and a signature is required to miss it even when on OCAP/admin pass.
22.  Res shall perform at least 10 hours of CSR each week. (Perform double the number of hours not completed at a rate of 3 hours per day beg no later than the day after the date of the vio, Loss of )
23.  Once awakened, Res shall not lie down or sleep on their beds or on the floors, in closets, in bathrooms, under beds, or in classes, etc. until 6 pm on weeknights and 1 pm on weekends.
24.  Res shall be awake and out of bed no later than 5:00am on weekdays and 6:00am on weekends and holidays.
25.  Res shall check in with the silverware counter at each meal whether they eat the meal or not.
26.  Res shall not receive mail from other correctional institutions unless expressly approved by their RCSO.
27.  Res shall not double book activities or classes.

Minor Rules - Violation of these rules will result in a written rule violation only.  Repeated violation of the same or similar rules will result in a more serious consequence.
1.  Res shall report their own or other Res' injuries or illnesses to Center Staff immediately.
2.  Res may not share cigarettes (mouth to mouth) nor smoke cigarette butts from the ashtray. (Loss of smoking privileges for three days).
3.  Res shall wear closed toe shoes, only.  Clogs, mules and slips are permissible for wear in and around the Center, but not for CSR.
4.  Res shall follow sign in & out procedures for all activities, including OCAPS.
5.  Res shall treat other Res with respect. 
6.  Res shall not borrow without permission.
7.  Res shall not cross the red lines into the RS stations, the admin wing, the kitchen or the lobby without permission from a staff member.
8.  Res shall observe quite zones and adhere to curfew - 9:45 pm Sun - Thur; 10:45 pm Fri & Sat. (Quiet in rooms, only quiet activities allowed, lights allowed)
9.  Res shall wear pajamas or athletic wear to bed.
10.  Res shall not wear provocative clothing (see through, low cut, tight, bearing logos or symbols that glamorize drugs, alcohol, gang activities, etc.)
11.  Res shall wear appropriate underwear everyday.
12.  Res shall take at least one shower daily.
13.  Res shall brush their teeth at least twice daily.
14.  Resident rooms must be kept clean and uniformly neat at all times.
15.  Res shall not have or keep food in their rooms.
16.  Res clothing shall be clean, neat, in good taste and in good repair, per the dress code.
17.  Res shall not engage in gang, street or jail talk and shall not wear gang related items.
18.  Res shall not enter the dining hall during clean up.
19.  Res shall not get coffee or tea while it is brewing.
