Texas Probation Association Honors
Williamson County Adult Probation
On August 27, 2002, the Texas Probation Association awarded Williamson County
Adult Probation Department with "The Best Annual Report" from the
Adult Discipline at the Legislative Conference in South Padre Island, TX.
This award is given each year to Adult and Juvenile departments for
excellence in reporting and presentation. Williamson County is the only
department statewide that publishes their report electronically; on the Web and
on CD. This is the fourth award Williamson County receives. Past
awards have been received for Fiscal Years '97, '98, & '99.
Williamson County Celebrates
National Probation, Parole,
& Community Supervision Officer's Week
During the week of July 14-20, 2002, probation, parole, community supervision
officers, criminal and juvenile justice professionals and communities joined
together across America to celebrate the 3rd annual Probation, Parole &
Community Supervision Officers' Week.
Williamson County participated in many ways. The Williamson County
Commissioners Court signed a proclamation recognizing this event. Banners
were placed in varying County Buildings/Satellite Offices that stated "We
Appreciate Our Probation Officers!..." A luncheon was held by the
Juvenile and Adult Probation Departments on July 18, 2002 at the Georgetown Elks
Lodge Facility. Various prizes collected from local merchants were given
to Officers and Caseworkers.
Vicki Spriggs, Director of the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission was guest
speaker.
Annual Awards Luncheon
On December 12, 2002, the Williamson County Adult Probation
Department held the Annual Christmas Party and Awards Luncheon. The Event
was held at the Georgetown Elks Lodge Facility. The Event was sponsored by
Corrections
Software Corporation, Inc. and Dr. Fred Willoughby. Door prizes were
donated by various local merchants.
