Community Justice Council Members
Fiscal Year 2001
The Judicial District Community Justice Council of Williamson County met on February 21, 2001 to address the goals set forth by the community justice plan (CJP) in Article 42.13 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure:
-
To increase community involvement and responsibility in developing sentencing programs that provide effective sanctions for criminal defendants;
-
To provide increased opportunities for criminal defendants to make restitution to victims of crime through financial reimbursement or community service;
-
To provide increased use of community penalties designed specifically to meet local needs; and
-
To promote efficiency and economy in the delivery of community-based correctional programs consistent with the objectives defined by Section 1.02, Texas Penal Code.
The Community Supervision and Corrections Department of Williamson County acknowledges the invaluable role of the Council in defining community corrections philosophy, and developing concepts, issues, and strategies to curb crime in the community.
