Judicial District
Community Justice Council Members
Fiscal Year 2000
The Judicial District Community Justice Council of Williamson County
was formed in August, 1989, to address the goals set forth by the
community justice plan (CJP) in Article 42.13 of the Texas Code of
Criminal Procedure:
- To increase community involvement and responsibility in developing
sentencing programs that provide effective sanctions for criminal
defendants;
- To provide increased opportunities for criminal defendants to make
restitution to victims of crime through financial reimbursement or
community service;
- To provide increased use of community penalties designed
specifically to meet local needs; and
- To promote efficiency and economy in the delivery of
community-based correctional programs consistent with the objectives
defined by Section 1.02, Texas Penal Code.
